Somnambulist | single channel video | 2005

"As I watch Somnambulist I experience a feeling that sometimes occurs to me--one that is reminiscent of hearing the sonorous reverberation of an old church bell. In particular, I listen for the moment after the bell is struck and before the silence. For me, that moment lies between the reality of life and the spirit of living. Christopher can effectively capture a moment and focus visual and aural devices to capture moments in reality to heighten awareness. For example, to listen or to view closely and expect something and then to find normal life is all that waits. The result is a provocative attitude with humorous revelation: it can be fun to remember that there are times when we may take ourselves much too seriously."
